When will fiber be available in my neighborhood?
Before construction begins we will send out postcards and door hangers. Check out our service availability map for more details.
How does installation work?
- After signing the release form a route will be flagged from our facilities to your home. Underground utility locators will place flags and paint in your yard to mark where existing utilities are located.
- A cable will be placed underground using a vibratory plow. This machine shakes the ground to place the cable which does not displace dirt like a trencher to minimize yard impact.
- Final installation is scheduled and takes place where the service cable is brought in to the home from a box mounted on the outside of the home.
Is there an installation fee?
Most homeowners can expect to pay somewhere around $100-$150 for installation based on the project. Homes that have significantly longer paths to bury cable in rural areas may see higher fees. Some residents in areas where grants covered the cost of installation will not see an installation fee. Information will be mailed to your home ahead of construction which will detail plan pricing, speed availability, and installation cost on a per-location basis.
I am a current fixed wireless customer. Can I switch to fiber?
In areas where fiber has overlaid our wireless network you can switch to fiber and keep your same pricing. We do not charge installation fees for current customers switching to fiber from fixed wireless. Contact us to get started today.
